NV Castillo Perelada, Brut, Rose, Cava
"Pale cherry red. Clean and bright. Its generous stream of fine bubbles forms a crown. It has a fruity aroma with a slight ageing tone. This wine has a complex and fruity taste."
(Castillo Perelada Website)
2012 Willow Crest, Pinot Gris, Washington
"intense aromas of Bosque pear, fresh melon, tangerine and vanilla flower. The palate is rich and textured with a creamy mid-palate and a bright, focused acidity that carries the fruit from start to end. Tangerine, grapefruit oil and cantaloupe flavors persist on a pleasant and defined finish" (Willow Crest Website)
2012 Chateau du Coing, “Coing de Severe” Muscadet, France
”The aromas of green apples, lychee, cinnamon and other spices” “The terroir of the Chateau du Coing is on of the oldest in the Nantes region. Indeed, the vineyard was cultivated as early as the Roman period. The current property dates from the 15th century” (Chateau du Coing Website)
2012 Qupe, Chardonnay, Y Block, Bien Nacido Vineyard
"Great balance with bright acidity are the trademark of this wine. It is barrel fermented in 25% new François Fréres Burgundy barrels which frame the crisp apple and Asian pear flavors with a lovely savory, buttered toast finish."
2011 Bruno Debize, “L’Homme a la Veste”, Beaujolais, France
"(made from fruit grown to agriculture biologique standards; 11.3% alcohol): Bright purple. Cherry, cassis, blueberry and cinnamon on the high-pitched nose and in the mouth. Juicy and precise, with a bright spice- and mineral-driven finish, noteworthy energy and zero fat. This vibrant Beaujolais should be bottled exclusively in magnums, as single servings." 90 Points | International Wine Cellar , July 2013 (*2010 review)
2012 Grochau Cellars, Pinot Noir, Commuter Cuvee, Oregon
”After two vintages with some of the coolest temperatures on record, 2012 presented Oregon winemakers with warm, consistent weather. A dry summer produced Pinot Noirs of deep color and rich fruit character. “Our more established sites came through with their personalities completely intact,” said Dave Paige at Adelsheim, “big, delicious versions of the wines we know them to be.” Although alcohol levels could be high, the grapes retained plenty of acidity to create zesty tension. “Storybook weather,” said Harry Peterson-Nedry of Chehalem. “The Pinots are not fruit bombs. They have a nice balance. It’s hard to imagine improvements.” (Wine Spectator Vintage Report)
2012 La Flor, Malbec, Pulenta, Mendoza
“Our Malbec has an intense violet color with an aroma of fresh cherries and delicate notes of rose. Its balance among the subtle presence of oak, structure, and fruit personality gives a long and aromatic finish” (La Flor Website)
2012 Vina Temprana, Grenache, Spain
" Vivid ruby. Red and dark berry aromas show a jammy quality and a hint of spiciness. Easygoing, juicy raspberry and blackberry flavors aren’t the last word in complexity but provide good palate coverage. Finishes with good length and a repeating blackberry note."
